Eagles center, former Husker Cam Jurgens seeks to trademark ‘Jurgy’

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Former Nebraska football center Cam Jurgens is trying to trademark the term “Jurgy.”
His beef jerky business, Pickrell-based Beef Jurgy LLC, applied for the trademark on Tuesday.
Jurgens, now with the Super Bowl-bound Philadelphia Eagles, founded the company when he was a Husker as a name, image and likeness venture.
It already owns a trademark for “Beef Jurgy,” which was Jurgens’ nickname among his teammates at Nebraska.
In 2023, the company decided to rebrand, according to its website.
Its packages of jerky, clothing and hats now just read “Jurgy.”
Applications with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office typically take a year to process, its website says.
