Early snow ends, then cold; sunny, warmer days ahead

Snow will quickly come to an end across southeast Nebraska, only dropping an additional couple tenths of an inch past 6 a.m. Friday. More snow will come later this afternoon and evening for portions of the Panhandle, with an additional 1-3″ possible out that way.

Once the snow ends, it’ll be a chilly day overall. Temperatures will only climb to the 30s for a high with mostly cloudy conditions for most of the day.

With a wind out of the north/northeast at about 10-20 mph, today will only feel like the lower 20s through the “best” parts of the day.

Clearing skies tonight will cause temperatures to plummet for Saturday morning. Wind chills will really bite by then. It’ll feel only a few degrees above and below zero to kickoff the weekend.

But by the afternoon, we’ll warm nicely and melt whatever little snow was out there across the area. Highs will be warming to the 40s on Saturday and 50s by Sunday.
