Employee at Lincoln shop accused of stealing nearly $7,700 in tires

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Lincoln woman was arrested Tuesday after stealing tires from the store where she worked, police say.

The owner of Walker Tire near 56th Street and Arbor Road reported that he had discovered a discrepancy in the inventory.

Police said an employee, 28-year-old Brooklynn Proplesch, was stealing tires and selling them.

She was caught on camera taking 13 Bridgestone tires worth nearly $7,700 over the course of four days, according to the Lincoln Police Department.

When officers arrived at the store, Proplesch got into her car and drove off.

She was eventually found near Van Dorn Park, where she was arrested on suspicion of felony theft.
