End-of-week heat in toasty two days; storms possible Sunday

As temperatures increase to end this week, records should be safe both Friday and Saturday.

Both days though will have high temperatures in the 90s. While tolerable heat, it’ll feel hot in the sunshine with some humidity.

The HeatRisk map is up in the “Moderate” category (orange) Friday and Saturday for eastern Nebraska.

This end-of-the-week heat is fairly common, but there could be risk for those exposed to the sun for longer periods of time.

The humidity will be nowhere near the corn sweat season (dew points in the middle and upper 70s), so only anticipate a heat index a few degrees warmer Friday afternoon.

A second day of summer-like temperatures is in the forecast for Saturday. Overnight temperatures by Saturday morning are only expected to cool to about 70°, leaving warm conditions for early tailgaters.

The game will end during the hottest part of the day, with a heat index again in the low to middle 90s.
