EPA warns of possible contamination to private wells

After flood waters have contaminated many private wells in eastern Nebraska–the Environmental Protection Agency is now stepping in to help.

They’re offering free water testing for well-owners, high waters could have contaminated wells with bacteria and waste from treatment plants and septic tanks.

Experts warn well users to look for changes in your water–like color and smell.

This all while more rain is in the forecast–threatening a million more private wells across the entire Midwest.
