Even warmer yet and spring-like; rain likely on Thursday

While Monday was warm for this time of year, Tuesday will be even warmer! Most of southeast Nebraska will be around 20 degrees warmer than average for late January, with high temperatures approaching almost 60 degrees!

Day Planner With High Pivot

The winds will be somewhat lighter Tuesday than Monday as well.

While it does feel like January 49th, we only have about four more days left in the month. Those days will all be quite warm and spring-like, cooling slightly with rain chances Thursday into Friday.

4 Day Temps

We are not close to records in Lincoln, if you were wondering. Omaha will have a good shot at coming close to their records today. You may remember 2012 and 2015 when we were warmer when these records were set.

Record High Territory

Stormcast is very quiet in the coming days, so we look forward to Thursday for some much-anticipated moisture finally.

A system moving up into our region from the south will first bring spotty chances for rain/mix along and mainly south of I-80 across the state early Thursday morning, before rain becomes more likely across southeast Nebraska Thursday afternoon.

Rain and the northwest side of that system will pull east to clear the area by early Friday.

And while we’re not included in any risk for severe weather just yet, there is a possibility that some of the rain could come with some thunder.

Tstorm Outlook

The eastern half of Nebraska is included in the light green shade (above), meaning thunderstorms are possible Thursday into Friday. The better chance for severe weather out of this setup is down toward Texas and Louisiana.
