The school year is well underway, but a group of students are still settling into their new school. This week Nuernberger Education Center has their dedication ceremony.

"There’s been a lot of excitement coming into a new building and whatnot. Absolutely," says Principal Jamie Boedeker.

Nuernberger Education Center is home of the nighthawks, a mascot chosen by the students. Boedeker says the school year is already off to a great start.

Nuernberger is an education center for students in 6th to eighth grade that have been referred from other local schools.
This is the first year of the school, which focuses on growth in learning and behavior.

"Our student-teacher ratio is more conducive to provide a little bit more individual instruction, individual opportunities for teachers to work with students in regards to their behavior," says Boedeker.

The school is named after Judge Bill Nuernberger, who served on the juvenile court in Lancaster County.

About 80 students attend the Education Center.
