Execution date set for Carey Dean Moore
On Thursday, the Nebraska Supreme Court issued an execution date for death row inmate Carey Dean Moore for Aug. 14.
It would be the first carried out by the state of Nebraska since 1997 and the first by lethal injection.
Moore was sentenced to death for the 1979 deaths of two Omaha cab drivers.
The Nebraska ACLU issued a statement saying they’re disappointed in court’s issuing a death warrant when several cases related to the death penalty are currently pending in the courts.
