FAA issues ground stop for Southwest Airlines, delaying flights at Omaha airport
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Over 1,800 Southwest Airlines flights were delayed Tuesday after federal officials issued a nationwide ground stop.
The Associated Press reported that the Federal Aviation Administration halted Southwest Airlines flights because of “intermittent” technical problems.
The order has since been lifted, according to CNN. But numerous flights at Omaha’s Eppley Airfield have been delayed.
As of 4 p.m., 13 arrivals and eight departures from Omaha were still delayed.
Omaha airport officials said flyers should expect delays all day. Flyers should also check with Southwest Airlines to check their flight status.
Southwest blamed the delays on “data connection issues resulting from a firewall failure,” CNN reported
