Fake guns found on suspect who fought Nebraska deputies, sheriff’s office says

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Authorities say a fight involving Nebraska deputies and a suspect who appeared to be heavily armed could have been much worse.
According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, deputies came across a combative individual who was wearing body armor on Monday night.
The sheriff’s office said the suspect refused to be taken into custody, leading to a struggle in which two realistic-looking guns were spotted in their pockets.
Deputies say they acted quickly to secure them and later learned they were really Glock replicas.
The sheriff’s office said training, experience and excellent decisions are the reasons no one was seriously hurt.
