Fake money reported multiple times in York
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Authorities are urging everyone to take a careful look at their money after multiple reports of counterfeit currency.
The York Police Department suggests paying extra attention to large bills and looking for the words “copy” or “play money” written anywhere.
YPD also recommends examining the texture and making sure there’s a 3D security ribbon on $100 bills.
It should contain images that shift between bells and 100s as you move the bill around.
If you find any money that might be fake, call YPD at 402-363-2640.
