Fall-like again in time for the weekend
A few spot showers are developing in central Nebraska with a cloud deck early Friday morning. This activity will remain west of the area through the morning and afternoon, but we may see some clouds sneak into the picture from it.
Winds out of the north continue to pull in cooler air for a fall-like Friday.
Fall-like temperatures spread across the state to close out this work week, with fall-like colors on the map still through the afternoon. Highs will be in the 70s and lower 80s across Nebraska.
Channel 8’s Game of the Week features Lincoln Southwest Silverhawks taking on Lincoln Southeast Knights at Seacrest Field. By kickoff tonight, comfortable conditions are expected: temperatures in the lower 70s and a light northeast breeze with the sun going down.
A similar feel Saturday night is in store for the Huskers’ night game against Colorado. Yet first in the morning, temperatures fall to the 40s as fans get settled in Lincoln for that game and/or for the Husker volleyball game in the afternoon.
For football, temperatures will start around the lower 70s for kickoff at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, ending up closer to the upper 50s for the end of the game.
Sunny skies are going to be common throughout the weekend. South winds will increase on Sunday, and we’ll start warming again.
After a quick shot of fall air, we’re back to the 90s next week. We turn toward a very dry and warm period into mid-September.
