Fall opening is in the cards for Lincoln casino expansion
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Phase two of the Lincoln WarHorse Casino expansion is underway to provide more room for folks to roll the dice.
Lynne McNally, WarHorse’s head of government relations, said Friday that the long-awaited expansion is set to open in the fall.
“We would love to be able to spread the machines out
a little bit more, have a little bit of room to breathe and spread out,” she said.
Construction crews are adding to the casino’s north and south sides. The project will double the size of the building’s interior.
WarHorse’s casino in Omaha is also expected to open in the fall.
“We’re looking forward to this fall when both projects are open, and we can start returning money to the State of Nebraska for property tax relief,” McNally said.
The third and final phase at the Lincoln casino will add several amenities, including a hotel, an entertainment center and an upgraded racetrack.
