Families reunite at the Lincoln airport this holiday season

It’s that time of year.

Families are getting together after being apart for a long time.

The holiday season is what brings them together.

“We are extremely excited, this is the biggest Christmas blessing is getting the family together, said Mary Fessler.

It was a busy Sunday at the Lincoln airport.

There were many touching reunions on display as family members who hadn’t seen each other in some time were finally back together again.

“We are here to pick up my father, he is coming in from Memphis, Tennessee, and he is coming in for Christmas. We haven’t seen him since March on my son’s birthday so it will be super fun and I know my son is excited to see his papa, that’s his favorite person,” said the McCadney family.

One family was picking up their oldest son, his wife and their one-year-old grandson.

The weary travelers had been up since the crack of dawn.

“They have been at the airport in Montana since 5:30AM this morning so they are going to be bringing a very tired grandson. Dinner is delayed, we have soup in the crock pots knowing that travel could be a little tenuous today. We are looking forward to them and spoiling our grandson as much as possible,” said Mary and Jim Fessler.

The Fessler family was overjoyed to learn the trio of travelers would be making the trip from Montana.

It was a big surprise.

“Since Luke is so little we really did not think they were going to make it back for Christmas and they told us in July, we do face timing and Luke held up a sign that says, “Grandma, I’m coming to Nebraska,” said Mary Fessler.

To all of those families who are being reunited just in time for Christmas…. Have a wonderful week and holiday season!
