Family displaced after early morning fire in Southeast Lincoln

Lincoln Fire and Rescue is investigating what sparked an early morning house fire in Southeast Lincoln.
Crews were called to the home near 52nd and Old Cheney around 4:30 Tuesday morning on reports of a fire in a basement bedroom.
When LFR arrived they were able to quickly extinguish the fire.
The home was occupied when the blaze broke out, but the family made it out safely.
Damage is extensive and is estimated to be between $75,000 and 100,000. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Lincoln Fire and Rescue responded to the blaze in the basement of a home near 52nd and Old Cheney, around 4:30 a.m.
Scanner reports they initially called in extra units because the fire was in the basement.
Scanner reports also indicate the family got out safely.
