Family of slain Lincoln man asking for possible witness to step forward

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Police are seeking a witness of a deadly shooting at a downtown Lincoln hookah bar in April.

Investigators think the woman, who is not a suspect, might have witnessed the shooting at the Royal Hookah Bar and Lounge on April 7.

Gregory Little Jr., 32, was shot and killed by a security guard outside the bar near 16th and O streets, according to the Lincoln Police Department.

No charges have been filed, and Little’s family has been calling for justice as the investigation continues.

Little’s family is asking for that witness to come forward.

“Please come forward with any information, unedited video, whatever you may have,” said Antionio Taylor, Greg’s older brother. “It will help, it’s greatly appreciated.”

Greg’s mother, Vernadine Taylor, said the journey toward healing has been very hard, but she is thankful for her coworkers.

“They keep me smiling, laughing, joking with me and going to work is really, truly helping me,” Vernadine said.

Jordan Riley, a significant other to Greg, said her oldest son has stepped up in a big way during this tough time.

“It’s hard, but I am grateful,” Riley said. “He raised him well, he raised all of my bigger kids well.”

Sunday, the family spent Mother’s Day together. They also celebrated what would have been Greg’s 33rd birthday.

“We were able to celebrate him on Saturday, we had Mother’s Day on Sunday,” Riley said. “We celebrated his birthday on Monday.”

But they can’t truly begin the healing process until the case is closed.

“At least give my kids closure,” Riley said. “They miss their daddy, and to hear them crying out is the worst feeling in the world.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
