Family of hit and run victim meets responding officer

An emotional reunion, that was 12-years in the making, took place Thursday morning.
On this day in 2007, Molly Lanham was walking to the bus stop with her mother when she became the victim of a hit and run.
The crash left her with traumatic brain damage, a collapsed lung, and other injuries.
Officer Brian Ward was first on the scene, and helped eventually catch the suspect.
“It’s a very emotional scene, very traumatic,” said Ward.
Thursday, Molly and her family were finally able to thank him face-to-face. Officer ward has not seen the Lanham’s since that day.
“We have our walking, talking, miracle today because of the response of people here in Lincoln that made that possible,” said Amy Lanham, Molly’s mother.
Now, Molly is 17 and getting ready to graduate from Lincoln Southwest High School.
Officer Ward says this meeting brings closure to what could’ve been a much more tragic situation.
