Father and son go viral after creating Rube Goldberg machine

Lindsay Theisen of Lincoln sent Channel 8 Eyewitness News a video of the project her husband and son worked on during Saturday’s blizzard.
We posted the video on Facebook, and it has been viewed almost two million times and has close to 17,000 shares.
It is called a Rube Goldberg Machine, or as Kyler, the 8-year-old co-creator, likes to a call it, a “Marble Maze.”
With the flush of the toilet, the process was set in motion.
This is not the first time Kyler and his dad, Scott, put together a marble maze. Two years ago they created one, but in a smaller scale.
“We woke up Saturday with a blizzard warning, and he mentioned it was one of the best days of his life putting that marble maze together, so he wanted to do it again, and I really couldn’t say no to that,” Scott Theisen said.
The Theisens worked close to eight hours setting up the marble maze.
“We just kind of pieced things together as we were working on it, it just kept growing and got bigger and bigger,” Theisen said.
And, like the size of the machine, they didn’t know how big the video would become.
Theisen had no intention of posting the video on Facebook until he tried to email the video to some friends, and realized the file was too large.
