Fawns rescued in Seward

"I’d never heard that sound before," said Lynn Brumm.
What began as a calm Monday evening changed quickly for a Seward family. Lynn Brumm was watering her garden when she heard what she described as a distressful cry.
"My daughter sprayed up and went back to the back woods and she hollered back, there’s three babies in the well. I’m like baby what? deer."
Lynn’s daughter Morgan spent a lot of time behind her home near Plum Creek during her childhood so she knew exactly where to look, an old abandoned well.
"They were trying to jump, they were so close to getting off but not big enough to completely jump out," said Morgan Brumm.
Morgan knew a neighbor who could help get the 3 fawns out of the well. The mother deer always stayed nearby and then ran off with the babies once they were rescued and set free.
The Brumm’s made sure this would never happen again by covering the hole.
Lynn and Morgan said it is very common to see deer and fawns, sometimes twins.. but triplets are rare.
"Amazed.. that there were not two but three baby deer down there," said Brumm.
Lynn said that she has lived in her home for 10 years now and has always seen deer come up to as close as the deck of the house. Everyone was just very glad they were able to save the fawns.
