FEMA to provide grants to Nebraska counties affected by severe storms

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Federal Emergency Management Agency plans to reimburse those effected by the July 9 and July 10 severe thunderstorms.

President Biden signed a major disaster declaration on September 6, listing counties affected by the severe thunderstorms.

Counties eligible for assistance include; Box Butte, Cass, Clay, Douglas, Fillmore, Grant, Hall, Hamilton, Madison, Saunders, Sarpy, Sheridan, Washington and York.

The public notice concerns activities affecting historic properties, activities that are located in or may affect wetland areas or the 100-year floodplain, and critical actions in the 500-year floodplains according to a FEMA spokesperson.
