Fire caused $80,000 damage to east Lincoln home, LFR says
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Several LFR crews battled a cooking fire in east Lincoln early Monday morning.
Lincoln Fire & Rescue responded to the home near 70th and O streets around 1:45 a.m.
Battalion Chief Jeremy Gegg said crews found smoke and fire inside the single-story home.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze in about 15 minutes. The accidental fire started in the kitchen while someone was cooking, Gegg said.
The four people living at the home made it out before crews arrived. No one was injured, but the residents will be displaced.
LFR estimates the fire caused $50,000 in damage to the structure and another $30,000 to the contents inside.
