Fire damages heating unit at Lincoln aircraft hangar

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A fire broke out early Tuesday morning at a hangar at the Lincoln Airport.

It happened shortly before 2 a.m. at the CommuteAir hangar on the west end of the airport, according to Lincoln Fire & Rescue.

LFR said firefighters saw fire in the building upon arrival.

It was coming from a heating unit in the rafters, according to a battalion chief.

He said crews were able to get it out within about 15 minutes, once they turned off the gas.

LFR said the damage was limited to the heating unit.

CommuteAir is part of United Airlines.
