Fire destroys garage, damages power lines at north Lincoln home
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Lincoln Fire & Rescue battled a garage fire in north Lincoln on Saturday.
Just before 7:30 p.m., several crews were called to a home near 31st and Potter streets.
When crews arrived, Battalion Chief Jim Bopp said there were flames coming through the roof of a detached garage.
According to Bopp, the flames were hitting the power lines above the garage causing them to fall.
In a video sent to our NOW Local News App by a Channel 8 reporter, you can see heavy damage to the garage.
Crews were able to get water on fire quickly and put it out in 10 minutes, Bopp said.
The flames did not spread to the house, but the garage and everything inside is a total loss.
