UPDATE:

One Lincoln family has to stay somewhere else tonight after smoke filled their home.

The owners of a house off 9th and Harrison had just returned home, when they noticed the door was hot, they called for help.

Firefighters found a small fire in the back kitchen.

This isn’t the first time firefighters have been to this house. "This is our third incident at this particular location in the last couple of months. So it’s still under investigation at this time by the inspector. The fire was pretty well contained to the back area of the home, it didn’t spread throughout the home. But the smoke damage did," said Battalion Chief Leo Benes.

No one was hurt, but some pets in the home are still unaccounted for.

Ninth street was closed for a few hours as crews worked in the house.

There are no damage estimates yet. Crews are still investigating the cause.
