The wait is over. You can now buy fireworks in city limits.
Fireworks sales kicked off as early as 8 a.m. For some, that couldn't come fast enough.
"I'm really excited like we've been looking forward to this since the first of July,” 12-year-old Ethan Cotter said.
Stands in Lincoln can sell up until 11 p.m. Friday and 11:59 p.m. Saturday.
Over at one of the stands near 33rd and highway two, organizers say they had to turn people away who showed up hours early..
They've been busy all day.
"Everyone rushes at the same time. We had lot of people showing up at 7:30 wanting to buy fireworks,” Bellino fireworks stand organizer Michelle Lee said.
The Duhs run the crazy cracker tent located at 13th and High. They're raising money to send their son to Ireland with Lincoln youth symphony. It's their first time selling and they're already running low on supplies.
"I think the biggest surprise is that we're almost out of a few some the fireworks that we carry in the tent, so we will need to try to stock for tomorrow."
While you're out getting your fireworks this weekend, there is one thing this kid wants you keep in mind.
"When you're having fun, be sure to be safe too,” 11-year-old Jacob Wollfe said.
Just a reminder, you can light fireworks off until 11 p.m. Friday.
They're legal again from 8 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.
