Fishing for beginners at Holmes Lake Tuesday

You’re invited to grab a friend and join the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission at Lincoln’s Holmes Lake Tuesday, June 25th, for Fishing with Friends.

The adult-based opportunity is a chance for people who have little or no fishing experience to learn some skills.

Bait, equipment and instruction will be provided.

In addition to fishing, participants can learn how to clean fish and cook fish in a healthy way.

Experts will be on-hand to teach kayaking and kayak fishing.

A vendor will be on-site with information on how to purchase a kayak, as well.

Kayaks will be provided, and kayakers must be at least 12-years-old.

Fishing is from 6 to 8 p.m., along the north shore by the fishing trailer.

People will need a fishing license, which they can purchase at outdoornebraska.org.

For the complete schedule of fishing events go to outdoornebraska.gov/familyfishing
