Five injured, two critically, in crash near Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Five people were injured Friday evening in a crash west of Lincoln.
It happened just after 3 p.m. at Southwest 84th and West A streets, near Emerald, according to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said a Toyota Corolla traveling on West A made a U-turn in the intersection.
It was hit by a Cadillac SRX SUV going south on 84th.
Two people inside the Toyota were taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The sheriff’s office thinks that they were not wearing seat belts.
The three people in the SUV — the driver and two young children — suffered minor injuries, the sheriff’s office said.
The intersection was closed for several hours. The crash is still under investigation.
