LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — According to police, five juveniles broke into a home, stealing $100 in cash while the resident was still home.

It happened around 6:15 Thursday evening in the 1400 block of S 10th St. The victim, a 27-year old, reported that five males (two 14-year-olds, two 16-year-olds, and a 7-year-old) kicked in his door and began burglarizing his home.

Police say the suspects took $100 in cash from a safe in the bedroom closet.

After conducting interviews with surrounding residents, police learned the juveniles live nearby and took them into custody.

Officers referred and released four of the juveniles to their parents for burglary. However, one of the 14-year-old had an outstanding juvenile warrant and was placed at the Youth Services Center.
