Five Nebraska women’s basketball players earn Big Ten postseason honors
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Five Nebraska women’s basketball players were awarded Big Ten postseason honors on Tuesday.
Alexis Markowski is a first-team All-Big Ten selection, joining Iowa’s Caitlin Clark and Indiana’s Mackenzie Holmes.
Markowski played 29 games this season, averaging 15.8 points and 10.7 rebounds.
Jaz Shelley is a second-team All-Big Ten selection.
The Australia native finished the regular season averaging 12.8 points and 4.2 rebounds per game.
Two Nebraska first-year players, Natalie Potts and Logan Nissley, were selected for the conference’s All-Freshman Team.
Coaches also named Potts the Big Ten Freshman of the Year.
She won eight Big Ten Freshman of the Week awards this season, averaging 10.5 points and 5.4 rebounds per game.
The Missouri native was also selected as an All-Big Ten honorable mention.
Nebraska guard Maddie Krull is a Big Ten women’s basketball sportsmanship award honoree.
The Huskers will return to the court Thursday for the Big Ten Tournament in Minneapolis. Nebraska has a first-round bye.
