Five new COVID deaths reported in Lancaster

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Officials with the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department (LLCHD) report five new COVID deaths in the community, with the total now at 158.
The deceased have been identified as two hospitalized men, one in his 70s and one in his 80s, as well as three individuals in long-term care facilities–two men in their 90s and a woman in her 80s.

Additionally, 76 new lab-confirmed cases were reported, bringing the community total to 23,239.
The county is reporting 7,177 people have recovered from COVID-19. While the weekly positivity rate has spiked to 40.6%.
As of today, 106 individuals are hospitalized with COVID-19 (64 from Lancaster County). A total of eight people are on ventilators
