Walker’s suspension dropped to 14 games, Huskers rally over Coyotes

Six Players Score In Double Figures In 76 69

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska played its fourth game in seven days last night. At times, it got a little ugly, but the Huskers were able to grab a 76-69 win against South Dakota.

Both teams struggled in the first half. The Huskers only led by seven at halftime. Things seemed to click during the second half. Nebraska went on a 19-6 run, giving the team an 18 point lead.

Five players were in double figures including Teddy Allen, Shamiel Stevenson, Trey McGowens, Kobe Webster and Delano Banton.

Nebraska shot 40 percent from the field and out-rebounded the Coyotes 48–38. Lat Mayen had a career high on the boards with 12.

Allen had a team-high with 23 points, 16 of those points came in the second half. Stevenson scored 11 points, four rebounds and head coach Fred Hoiberg said he was the Most Valuable Player.

Hoiberg also made an announcement on Wednesday. He told the Husker Sports Network that junior Derrick Walker’s suspension has been dropped from 16 games to 14. That’s based on half of the 27-game season. Walker can now return for Nebraska’s match up against Illinois on Jan 13.
