Flames cause $45,000 in damage to detached garage in north Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Embers from a fire pit ignited a blaze at a detached garage in north Lincoln on Sunday, officials say.

When Lincoln Fire & Rescue crews arrived at the home near 68th and Vine Streets around 3:20 p.m., heavy smoke was coming from a detached garage.

LFR spokeswoman Nancy Crist said crews were able to mostly contain the fire to the garage.  The house had some slight exterior damage.

No one was injured.  Crist said the fire caused about $45,000 in damage.
