Flamingos popping up in the Midwest due to Hurricane Idalia
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — People around the Midwest are seeing pink.
Flamingos are showing up in some odd places — even Ohio.
The long-legged birds are commonly associated with the tropics. So what gives?
The leading theory right now is that the flamingos were diverted by Hurricane Idalia while they were traveling in the Caribbean.
Scientists say many of them headed north to escape the nasty weather.
