Flipping the script with warmer weather to start off this week
You know what’s funny? In history, we have seen sub-zero temperatures as early as November 4th. But this year, we are far from that. There’s talk that we may not see a single day below zero this calendar year. So we’ll see, but it’s usually closer to Christmas Eve that we see those brutal temperatures first.
We’ve got a very quiet stretch of weather coming up this week. Below is a look at the current upper level winds as of Monday morning. The zonal flow you see over Nebraska and through much of the States has kept us dry. This doesn’t look to change all that much in the near future, but more so just past our 10-day outlook.
There will be a bit of cloud cover on Monday for mostly cloudy skies through the later morning hours. Temperatures should still be well on their way to about 70° for a high to start this week. Winds will be light, eventually shifting to be out of the southeast later on.
And remember how Halloween/Tuesday of last week was? This is the “flip of the script” we see this week. Lower 70s in the forecast for this Tuesday, before cooling a bit the rest of the week. A series of “cool” fronts will come through, but we stay dry.
And this is another reason why talk of sub-zero temperatures is funny now. Most of November has good chances to have temperatures above normal, especially for eastern Nebraska through mid-November.
We’ll keep an eye on the longer-range forecast, but until then, it’ll be very quiet.
