LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A part of Folsom Street in west Lincoln is now open, officials said Friday.

Folsom Street was closed from West Old Cheney Road to West Pioneers Boulevard in the summer for the Lincoln on the Move project.

The project widened and improved about a half-mile of Folsom Street.  Crews also added turn lanes into the new Foxtail Meadows development.

Officials said additional improvements included a new storm sewer pipe crossing to improve drainage.

Lincoln on the Move is a six-year effort focused on enhancing the city’s streets.

More information on street closures can be found on the city’s website.
