Lincoln, Neb. (KLKN) – To replace the annual walk that draws hundreds of people, the Walk to End Alzheimer’s hosted a Food Truck Festival Saturday afternoon in Haymarket Park. Seven food trucks lined the parking lot along with pony rides and live music for people to enjoy.

“We thought let’s have multiple food trucks, then someone had ponies, so we brought in ponies,” said volunteer Marilyn John. “We created some swag that we wanted to sell.”

Valentinos, Woosie’s Wings and What Nots and the Tastee Trailer were just a few of the food trucks. John said the walk was different than previous years to accommodate for social distancing. In the past, participants could create groups of family members and friends and attend a walk. There was even a ceremony where individuals would remember their loved ones. This year, food trucks were socially distanced and masks were required for all attending.

All donations from the food truck event went to the Alzheimer’s Association.
