Former Blair assistant principal gets five years in prison on child porn charge

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A former assistant principal in Blair will spend five years behind bars on a child pornography charge.
Daniel Hutsell, 42, was sentenced Wednesday for the distribution of child pornography, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
In September 2021, investigators found that Hutsell sent around 10 images of child porn on a chatting website.
On Nov. 30, 2021, authorities served a search warrant at Hutsell’s home.
The attorney’s office said Hutsell – who at the time was an assistant principal with Blair Community Schools – admitted he used the website to trade pornography.
After his prison sentence, Hutsell will spend five years on supervised release. He is also required to register as a sex offender.
