Former Husker ace Cade Povich set to make AAA debut with Norfolk Tides

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Former Husker pitcher Cade Povich is making his AAA debut Friday night with the Norfolk Tides.
The Bellevue West alum will take the mound against the Nashville Sounds at 5:35 p.m. Central time. With a subscription, fans can watch live at MiLB.tv.
The Norfolk Tides are the AAA affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles. Earlier this year, Povich was invited to the Orioles’ spring training.
He is now the No. 11 prospect in the Orioles organization.

Povich played at Nebraska from 2020 to 2021 and was a first-team All-Big Ten selection in his final season.
During that season, Povich posted a 6-1 record with a 3.11 ERA in 81 innings pitched.
Povich was selected by the Minnesota Twins as the 98th overall pick in the third round of the 2021 MLB draft.
So far in his professional career, Povich has played for several minor league teams, including the Cedar Rapids Kernels and the Bowie Baysox.
