LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Former Husker Jack McVeigh signed a two-way deal Tuesday with the Houston Rockets.

McVeigh, who is currently playing for the Australian Olympic team, had 9 points in 11 minutes against Team USA on Monday.

He was a member of the Tasmania JackJumpers, who won the National Basketball League championship in the 2023-24 season.

McVeigh averaged 16.4 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game during that season.  He also shot 52% from the field and 35% from behind the arc.

He is the third Husker to sign with an NBA team this month, along with Keisei Tominaga and Bryce McGowens.  Last month, Dalano Banton re-signed with the Portland Trail Blazers.

Australia has three more exhibition games before the Paris Olympics tip-off.  McVeigh and company face off against Serbia on Tuesday.
