The NBL1 South season is ongoing, and head coach Kennedy Kereama said Shelley’s experience will be “critical” for the remainder of the year.
“I am very excited to welcome Jaz Shelley to the Ballarat Miners program! Having previously worked with Jaz in a number of settings, I’ve been a witness to her exceptional character, high basketball IQ, strong work ethic and drive to continually improve,” he said in the release.
During her three years with the Huskers, the Australia native scored 1,365 points and made 565 assists, the fifth-most in program history.
Shelley was then drafted in the third round of the WNBA draft by the Phoenix Mercury. But before the season began, the team waived her.
