After playing for Nebraska, Lue went on to play professionally for the Denver Nuggets, traded to Los Angeles Lakers soon after.
In 2009, he left the court but not the game as he became the Director of Basketball Development for the Celtics. He was later hired as the head coach for the Cavaliers.
He had some success but was fired from the position in 2018.
