Former Lincoln sports reporter pleads no contest to three counts of sexual assault

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Former sports reporter Brian Rosenthal pleaded no contest to three counts of sexual assault on Thursday, according to court documents.

Rosenthal was arrested in July 2021 on suspicion of four counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child in Nemaha County.

He was accused of assaulting a child between the age of 12 and 16, according to court documents.

One count will now be dropped with Rosenthal’s plea deal. The other three charges were also reduced to sexual assault.

He will still face child pornography charges in Lancaster County.

Rosenthal worked for the Lincoln Journal Star until 2016 and Huskers.com until 2020.
