Former Nebraska pitcher, Omaha native Drew Christo signs free agent deal with Atlanta

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Former Nebraska baseball pitcher Drew Christo inked an undrafted free agent deal with the Atlanta Braves on Monday.

The Elkhorn product is the third NU pitcher from this year’s team to continue his career with an MLB organization, joining Mason McConnaughey and Luke Broderick.

Christo went 3-2 with a save and a 5.61 ERA in a team-high 31 appearances, which is tied for the sixth-most in a season by an NU pitcher.

The right-hander totaled 51 strikeouts in 51.1 innings and held opponents to a .260 batting average in 2025.

Christo totaled seven wins, two saves and a 4.98 ERA in his four seasons at Nebraska.

In total, he fanned 128 batters in 133.2 innings of work, making 64 appearances on the mound.
