Four more charged as missing couple homicide investigation continues to grow

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Four more people have been arrested in connection with the homicide investigation into the deaths of a 26-year-old Lincoln woman, her 27-year-old partner and their unborn child, police said on Wednesday.

47-year-old Ammie Mitchell, 57-year-old Kendall Hawthorne, 28-year-old Matthew Lickliter and 40-year-old Sheena Miller are each charged with accessory to murder and tampering with evidence, according to the Lincoln Police Department.

Investigators said the four lived at a home near Northwest 27th Street and West Alvo Rd., which authorities described as central to the case.

“A SWAT team served a search warrant at the Northwest 27th Street address.” Capt. Ben Miller said.

Police allege that 26-year-old Hannah Neville and 27-year-old Roberto Tanner were followed by two men, identified by authorities as James and Titus, to the Northwest 27th Street residence. After arriving, James allegedly shot Neville and Tanner, Miller said.

“Amy Mitchell saw both James and Neville’s vehicles parked in the driveway and saw Neville deceased. She then removed several personal items from Neville’s vehicle, many of which have not been recovered,” Captain Miller said. “Miller assisted James in moving their bodies and then drove Neville’s vehicle back to NW 27th street.”

Investigators said James and Lickliter later used a torch to set Neville’s vehicle on fire in a cul-de-sac near 40th Street and Cornhusker Highway.

Authorities believe the suspects then drove outside of Davey, where police think the bodies were first disposed of before being moved to Saunders County in what investigators described as an attempt to cover up the crime.

Police also stated that Hawthorne gave baby items from Neville’s vehicle to a friend.

“On January 16th, we believe all four individuals watched as James and Titus cleaned their vehicles in the garage on North 27th street.” Miller said.

Lincoln police said they have recovered a handgun from one of the homes connected to the investigation and continue to review digital evidence.

Authorities said they believe the remains recently found are those of Neville and Tanner. An autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday.

Police emphasized the investigation remains active and urged anyone with information to contact authorities.
