Three men in critical condition after Lincoln crash; police say pickup ran red light
UPDATE, 9:55 a.m. — Kohll’s Pharmacy told Channel 8 the two-vehicle crash that injured four people early Tuesday will not prevent it from serving customers.
A pharmacist said some products were damaged, including walkers and wheelchairs that can cost as much as $600.
The front doors and windows need to be repaired as well, which is expected to take a few weeks. They’ll be boarded up until then.
Customers are asked to use the north door that connects to the parking lot.

UPDATE, 8:15 a.m. — Traffic is once again getting through on northbound 27th Street after a crash injured four people in Lincoln overnight.
The Vine Street intersection was closed for about eight hours following the midnight wreck that left three men with critical injuries.
They were rushed to the hospital along with the woman they’re accused of slamming into after speeding through a red light.
Police still haven’t released the names of anyone involved in this collision.
UPDATE, 7:45 a.m. — Authorities say an overnight crash came after an attempted traffic stop.
A Lincoln Police officer said they tried to stop a Nissan Frontier that was speeding on Nebraska Parkway at 12:01 a.m.
The truck took off on 27th Street, according to LPD, but to protect the public, the officer did not give chase.
Over the next couple of minutes, several other officers reported seeing the Nissan as it sped toward 27th and Vine streets.
Police said the Nissan blew a red light at 12:04 a.m. and hit a Honda Civic that had a green light.
The Nissan then plowed into Kohll’s Pharmacy, according to LPD, throwing all three men from the vehicle.
The 20-year-old woman who was driving the Honda was the only person in that vehicle.
UPDATE, 7:10 a.m. — The Lincoln Police Department is now reporting that three men are in critical condition following an overnight collision.
Investigators say two 19-year-olds and an 18-year-old were in the pickup that crashed into Kohll’s Pharmacy around midnight.
All three of them were thrown from the truck when it hit the building, according to LPD.
The fourth person involved in this wreck, a 20-year-old woman, is being treated for serious injuries.
The northbound lanes of 27th Street are expected to remain closed from Vine to W streets for the next couple of hours.

UPDATE, 6:20 a.m. — Most of the closed area is back open following a fiery crash that sent four people to the hospital in Lincoln overnight.
The closure on Vine Street has been lifted as of 6:15 a.m., and drivers can once again travel south on 27th Street.
There’s no timetable on how long it’ll take to reopen northbound 27th Street, as crews still need to remove the truck that smashed into Kohll’s Pharmacy.
Crews are also still cleaning up debris and collecting evidence. The two vehicles collided with such force that a tire was missing for several hours.
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Four people were seriously injured early Tuesday in a crash at 27th and Vine streets, police say.
Just after midnight, a pickup was speeding north on 27th Street and collided with an eastbound sedan, according to Lincoln Police Capt. Max Hubka.
The pickup ended up crashing into Kohll’s Pharmacy and caught fire.
Hubka said the fire was small and was put out in a couple minutes.
The three occupants of the pickup and the lone occupant of the sedan were taken to a hospital.
Hubka said the intersection will be closed for several hours.
