LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Several rural fire crews extinguished an outbuilding fire Monday in rural Lancaster County.

The fire was reported around 7 p.m. at a property near North 40th Street and Raymond Road.

Chief Deputy Ben Houchin said the owner called 911 after she smelled smoke.

No one was injured, but four ponies and two sheep were killed in the fire.

The Nebraska State Fire Marshal Agency thinks the cause of the fire was electrical.

Houchin said the building was valued at $80,000.
