LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Interstate 80 was closed for around an hour Friday following a four-vehicle crash near Seward.

The Nebraska State Patrol says the crash happened at mile marker 382 near the I-80 alt exit just southeast of Seward.

Smoke could be seen coming from one or more vehicles at the crash, but no injuries were reported, according to the patrol.

The patrol says two other accidents happened on I-80 after the original accident. The conditions of the drivers and passengers are unknown.

Channel 8 reached out to the Seward County Sheriff’s Office for more information on the conditions of the drivers, but they declined to comment.

A long stretch of traffic was backed up in the eastbound lane before the interstate was closed. Traffic was diverted onto Highway 6.

Around 5 p.m., the interstate was reopened, but responders worked a while longer to fully clear the crash.
