Fremont man sentenced for throwing rocks at medical helicopter

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Fremont man was sentenced Thursday for throwing rocks at a helicopter trying to land at the hospital in Fremont.

Drew Beerbohm, 35, got time served for attempted destruction of an aircraft.

He has been in custody for four years and four months and will now serve a three-year term of supervised release.

In August 2020, a medical helicopter was trying to land on a helipad at the hospital.

Beerbohm was caught on hospital surveillance cameras, as well as by the helicopter’s pilot and several other individuals, throwing rocks at the aircraft.

The helicopter had to abort the landing, and Beerbohm threw another unknown item as it flew away.
