Friday morning showers- Hot weekend ahead
There is a level 1 MARGINAL risk for severe weather for parts of northeast and NW Nebraska. Strong storms will develop this afternoon near 3PM and become more widespread through this evening. Small hail and gusty winds are the main concerns.
Heat Advisories are in place through Friday night from Grand Island- west and through Saturday night in eastern Nebraska. Feels like temperatures between 104- 110 degrees.
Friday afternoon will be HOT—highs in the low to upper 90s with gusty south winds at 10 to 15 mph.
Combine the moisture with the temperature and you get heat index values near 105 degrees for much of eastern Nebraska. Stay cool and hydrated these next few days!
South winds will be gusting to around 20-25 mph through your Friday afternoon.
Tonight, another warm and muggy night for most of us. Temperatures in the lower 70s under clear skies.
The next several days will be HOT and muggy. Sunday, a few scattered showers and storms possible in the afternoon and evening hours. Monday and Tuesday, rain and storm chances look to be mostly in parts of eastern Nebraska. Temperatures look to stay near or below average through the last half of next week. We could be tracking some more rain and storm chances next Saturday through Monday.
