Friends, family and more gather for funeral of fallen Nebraska State Patrol trooper

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Several people gathered Thursday in Omaha for the funeral of fallen Nebraska State Trooper Kyle McAcy.

The procession began at 9 a.m. at Westlawn-Hillcrest Funeral Home, as McAcy’s body was taken to Liberty First Credit Union Arena.

The route was lined with supporters from the public and other law enforcement agencies.

The funeral service began at 11 a.m., where friends, family and state officials remembered McAcy.

McAcy, 31, was killed on Feb. 17 when he was hit by a snowplow while responding to a crash on Interstate 80 near Ashland.
